Beauty Tips

Eat well and stay healthy. That is the first thing that you need to do, because if you're missing important vitamins or nutrients it will show up in your hair as fragile strands, excessive damage or dryness.

Try to be as gentle as possible with your hair. Minimize heat styling like straightening and blowdrying and if you must do it then use heat protection products to prevent excessive damage. Also find a good shampoo and conditioner. Shampooing daily isn't always necessary and can dry out your hair too much. For a lot of people every other day is fine and will keep their hair healthier and softer. For conditioner- some people do better with moisturizing conditioners and some with protein/strength building type conditioners. Try out both and see what works best for your hair.
Deep condition every week or two.

KEEP YOUR HAIR SHINY & HEALTY

There is nothing better than leaving our salon after  getting your hair colored. Not only do you look great but you feel confident also!

With ample color-extending shampoos, conditioners, and glosses making your at-home or salon color last is easier than ever. But there is no need to stop at hair care products! Your blow dryer and hair ties can make a big difference  in keeping your color. The problem is, how do you decide which is the best color-extender products? There are some simple steps you can take to keep your color longer.

  • Always use color-formulated products. Normal shampoos and conditioners may have chemicals that will strip the color formula.

  • Avoid over-washing! Only wash your hair when your hair is dirty. Excess was hinging can cause your hair to dry out and loose its color faster.

  • Don't over think it. The average color treatment lasts 6-8 weeks before you start to see your original color. Just give us a call, arrange an appointment and your hair will certainly keep its shine and longevity!

STYLE YOUR HAIR DAILY

Have you ever wondered why your bobby pins always seem to drop to the floor, or why your ponytail droops by lunchtime? I asked top hairstylists for their best-kept secrets. And what I discovered might surprise you.

You're using your bobby pins wrong. See how one side of the pin is bumpy? That side should always, always, always touch your scalp. It keeps the pin from sliding out.

Half up doesn't literally mean half up. When you pull that much hair up, you leave a skimpy-looking portion down below. The more flattering ratio is 30/70. To get it, draw a line from ear to ear over the top of your head, like a headband. That front section is your 30 percent.

You don't have the right elastic. If your ponytail droops, try using a bungee instead. That kind of elastic, with a hook on each end, wraps around the base of your ponytail until it's totally secure.

Rough-drying isn't that rough. In fact, there are two kinds of rough-drying depending on the results you want. For a big, bouncy blowout, finger-comb your hair upward and follow with the dryer pointed at a 45-degree angle. If you want a sleek, sexy blowout, apply the same technique but in a downward motion. But never just blow-dry your hair haphazardly. You'll spend the rest of your time correcting the damage.

Dry shampoo is the best styling tool in your arsenal. It mops up oil, yes. But it also helps bobby pins grip onto hair, gives you insane lift when used in a messy chignon, and can even make your ponytails and braids look bulkier. If you buy one product (other than, um, shampoo) make it this one.
